Dr. Yoon's background is in the field of medicinal chemistry with research focused on the design, synthesis and evaluation of inhibitors of proteases and peptidases related to prostate cancer. Prostate cancer has an enzyme-biomarker known as prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) and his work utilizes these inhibitors to synthesize small-molecule drug conjugates (SMDCs) that selectively bind to cancer cells, while minimizing harm to healthy tissues.
