The halls of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral will soon ring with the joyful sounds of South Dakota Mines students as they present the 43rd Annual Holiday Concerts.

This year’s program, “Hearts Take Hold”, will be performed on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. Audiences will enjoy performances by the Mines University Choir, Concert Choir and Singing Engineers, all led by Dr. Gerrit Scheepers, director of choirs and assistant professor in the Mines Department of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.

“As always, this concert promises to be a wonderful experience and a perfect way to get everyone in the festive mood,” Scheepers said.

The Cathedral’s high ceilings and sweeping architecture create the perfect backdrop for the rich, vibrant sounds of the vocal ensembles, making this annual tradition a highlight of the holiday season.

The concert is free and open to the public, but cash and check donations will be collected at the concert to support music scholarships for Mines students participating in any music ensemble. Attendees are also invited to a reception in event space at the Cathedral following the concerts.
