South Dakota Mines Releases Fall 2025 Academic Recognition and Dean’s Lists

South Dakota Mines has honored 855 students in the fall 2025 semester for academic excellence. The university named 794 students to the Fall 2025 Dean’s List and 61 students to the Fall 2025 Academic Recognition List. The Dean’s List recognition is for full-time students, while the Academic Recognition List is for part-time students.
"As we prepare to begin our spring academic semester at South Dakota Mines, we look back to applaud our students who have earned either the Dean's or Academic Recognition List during their fall semester studies,” said Mines Dean of Students Joseph Dlugos, Ph.D. “The Roman Philosopher Plutarch was quoted, 'the mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.' I believe that our students on this list live out this timeless wisdom. They have clearly excelled in accumulating and applying knowledge, but they also should be congratulated for their passion for discovery, for their innovation, and for their mastery of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We are proud of them and extend thanks to their faculty for inspiring them, university staff for supporting them, and their family and friends for being with them every step of the way."
To merit a spot on the Dean’s List, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Full-time students must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours for the term. To earn a place on the Academic Recognition List, part-time students must have earned between three and 11 credit hours that term in addition to a 3.5 GPA.
