South Dakota Mines Names Students to Spring 2026 Academic Recognition and Dean’s Lists

South Dakota Mines is recognizing outstanding achievement this spring, with 871 undergraduate students honored for their dedication and success in the classroom. Among them, 736 students earned a spot on the Spring 2026 Dean’s List, while 135 students were named to the Academic Recognition List.
The Dean’s List honors full-time students, while the Academic Recognition List recognizes part-time students for their academic accomplishments.
“Throughout the region, students at South Dakota Mines have a reputation for being academically gifted and craving the kind of curriculum that challenges them semester after semester,” said Joe Dlugos, Ph.D., Mines dean of students. “The specific students who have earned a spot on the Dean’s and Academic Recognition Lists live out that reputation with distinction. Their success reflects not only their talent in the classroom, but also, and perhaps more importantly, their perseverance and deep passion for science and engineering. We congratulate these students and also thank their faculty for inspiring them, the university staff for supporting them, and their family and friends for being with them every step of the way.”
To merit a spot on the Dean’s List, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Full-time students must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours for the term. To earn a place on the Academic Recognition List, part-time students must have earned between three and 11 credit hours that term in addition to a 3.5 GPA.
