High School Engineering and Science Career Camps
The School of Mines campus in the beautiful Black Hills is the place to be in summer if you want to explore science and engineering in greater depth. Camps are designed to be fun and hands-on. Camps offered in 2015 are:
July 12-17, 2015 -- ASM: Materials, Metallurgy and Forensics Institute
An exploration of the fascinating world of metallurgy and materials science -- attendees learn about nanomaterials, composites, polymers, make a Samurai sword, learn about materials testing with a optical and scanning electron microscope -- and more!
July 26-31, 2015 -- Chemical and Biological Engineering Camp
Explore the fascinating world of Chemical and Biological Engineering in this hands-on career camp. Learn what it's like to be a chemical engineer and all the types of work that they do.
July 27-31, 2015 -- Green Chemistry Camp: Treat the Earth with Respect
Through hands-on experiments and discussions, the Green Chemistry
camp seeks to instill an enthusiasm and appreciation of the role of chemistry
in everyday life and to promote a knowledgeable understanding of the science involved.

* Camps and classes will run if minimum enrollment is met.
- Sessions are limited in number of students, so each camper receives one- on-one attention from faculty members.
- An team of developers works with each camp to build teaming and interpersonal skills.
- The quality of the curriculum, the setting, the resources and facilities available on campus will make each one of these week-long sessions the highlight of the summer.
