Subawards
Oftentimes proposals are created that involve multiple Institutions of Higher Education to accomplish the goals and objectives of the proposal. In these cases the researcher works with research staff at the other Institution to develop mutually understood outcomes to be delivered as part of the proposal. During the budget process the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) will be in contact with the other Institution’s Office of Sponsored Programs or Office of Research Administration to ensure that both Institution’s forms and requirements are completed/met.
Once a proposal has been awarded then a subaward to the other Institution is made by South Dakota Mines. OSP will complete the needed forms authorizing this award to the partner institute and will be responsible for the payment of invoices sent by the subawardee and requesting any financial reporting forms that may be needed by the funding agency.
