Global Academic Focus (Minor/Certificate)

South Dakota Mines offers a Global Engineering & Science Minor and a Global Engineering & Science Certificate for all engineering and science majors.

Earning a global engineering and science minor or certificate can demonstrate initiative in learning about global challenges. Additionally, immersion experiences in different cultures through engineering or science projects/research activities are an effective way to develop skills in addressing cross-cultural challenges and understanding the impacts of international affairs on the industry.

Visit the minor and certificate requirements in the catalog and contact the Ivanhoe International Center to get started.

Student-Led Humanitarian Projects

Student-led humanitarian projects allow students to participate in service projects in another country, applying their engineering skills while learning more about the culture they are serving.
