SD Mines Summer Camps

We are gearing up for a great summer camp season and are so excited for you to be a part of it! Camp registration for 2020 will open on September 15.

Join us on the SD Mines campus for our STEM summer camps! At SD Mines, our summer campers participate in hands-on, STEM education throughout the day and explore Rapid City and the Black Hills in the evenings. These pre-college experiences are designed to expose students to the fascinating and hi-tech world of science and engineering.

Camps are hosted under our high-quality academic departments and boast a faculty director whose expertise exposes campers to the same content being taught in our undergraduate programs and beyond. Residential Camps: Experience life of a college students, living and learning on the SD Mines campus! Residential campers stay in an on-campus residence hall, supervised by camp counselors who are current SD Mines students. All meals are provided through our campus dining facilities. Residential camp cost includes room/board throughout the week as well as all daily camp activities and evening excursions. A $300 deposit is due upon registration. This deposit is applied to the total camp cost upon acceptance. Please note that the $300 deposit is non-refundable after a camper has been accepted to the program.

Day Camps: Campers participate in on-campus activities and field trips throughout the day, but do not stay on campus throughout the evenings and overnights. Campers/parents are responsible for transportation to and from the camp each day. Lunch is included for campers each day of camp. The cost of our day camps vary, with some FREE options available.

Summer Camp Scholarships: Visit our scholarship information page to learn more about needs-based scholarships for our summer camps. The priority deadline for scholarships vary with the earliest on March 15.

Please note that acceptance into the program is not guaranteed. Campers will receive acceptance information after all application items have been received and reviewed. Please note that grade refers to the student's grade during the 2020-2021 school year.
